Types of Installations

Castle provides two types of critical life safety installations: fire sprinkler systems and fire alarm systems. While these systems serve different purposes, they are both essential for comprehensive fire protection. We install each system to operate independently or in coordination, depending on the building’s requirements.

Fire Sprinkler Installation
Initial Assessment and Consultation +

Castle’s fire sprinkler system installation process begins with a complete assessment of your property’s layout, ceiling height, hazard classification, and water supply. Our design team creates detailed sprinkler layouts using advanced CAD and BIM software, ensuring the system provides full coverage while complying with IBC, NFPA 13, and local code requirements.

Once plans are approved and permits are secured, our technicians begin installation. We install wet, dry, pre-action, or deluge sprinkler systems depending on the property type and use. Every component, from pipes and risers to valves and sprinkler heads, is sourced from trusted manufacturers and installed to meet stringent safety standards.

After the physical installation is complete, we perform hydrostatic testing, flow tests, and full system checks to confirm performance and reliability. We provide as-built drawings, documentation, and coordinate with local inspectors to obtain approval for occupancy.

Fire Alarm Installation
Initial Assessment and Consultation +

In addition to sprinkler systems, Castle also provides full fire alarm system installation for commercial properties. These systems are designed to detect fires early, alert occupants, and notify monitoring stations or emergency responders. Every fire alarm system is designed and installed to meet NFPA 72 standards and all applicable local codes.

Our team designs each system to match your building’s size, layout, and use. This includes selecting and placing control panels, horns, strobes, pull stations, and detectors in the most effective locations. The installation is completed by trained technicians who wire and program the system to ensure seamless performance. Once installed, we conduct full testing to verify signal transmission, alarm operation, and monitoring integration.

Fire alarm systems can be installed alongside new fire sprinkler system installations or as part of a standalone project. When installed together, Castle coordinates both scopes of work for a streamlined process and efficient project delivery.

The Installation Process

Consultation and Design

Every project begins with a consultation to assess your property and fire protection needs. Our team evaluates your layout, occupancy classification, fire risks, and existing infrastructure to determine the appropriate system configuration. We then create detailed, code-compliant plans using modern design tools to ensure accuracy and coordination with other trades.

Permitting and Local Approvals

Castle manages all permitting requirements with local authorities. We handle submission of design documents, coordinate with fire marshals and inspectors, and resolve code-specific challenges before construction begins. Our familiarity with the permitting process in Maryland, Washington D.C., and Northern Virginia allows us to streamline approvals and avoid unnecessary delays.

Testing, Commissioning, and Turnover

Once installation is complete, Castle performs comprehensive testing of both sprinkler and alarm systems. For fire sprinkler system installations, this includes pressure testing, flow testing, and activation checks. For fire alarm systems, we test detection devices, notification appliances, and monitoring connectivity. We provide full documentation, including test results and as-built drawings, and coordinate final inspections with local authorities.
